Delivery terms and conditions to comply with the distance selling regulations
Delivery terms and conditions for Karla's Creative Capers refer to the distance selling regulations 2000 for the protection of my customers who cannot see my
artwork first hand. This allow our customers a cooling off period and explains how to return goods. I like to work closely with my customers and pride myself that since trading
as a sole trader I have not had anything returned and some of the comments from happy customers can be read on the customer comments page. If you like my art and would like to add your comments to this page then please contact me.
For those who are unable to meet me to discuss the artwork they are purchasing from www.karlascreativecapers.co.uk there is the right to cancel your order, with a full
refund of postage and the cost of artwork, within seven days from when you either place the order or receive the goods you have ordered. You do not need to give Karla any reason
for cancelling your order, though I would prefer to work with you to improve the art to your satisfaction - I prefer happy customers! These seven days is known as the cooling
off period under the Distance Selling Regulations 2000. Because my prices are kept so low I am unable to refund the cost of posting back artwork to me under this cancelation agreement.
Customised commissions, such as the pet portraits from photos are difficult for me to sell to someone else so I prefer to work closely with customers to get their artwork looking like their pet rather than offer a refund.
Delivery terms and conditions for those which are to be delivered within the Aberdeenshire area are simple - I like to deliver them personally and the costs
are met by me. This enables me to deliver delicate pieces safely preventing damage by a third party such as a courier or postal service. I can also make sure customers are satisfied with the order.
Delivery terms and conditions are different for other parts of the UK where I have to use a third party. In this instance I take out the third party insurance, for example special or recorded delivery from the Post Office, which means that I can refund your cost of artwork in the event of damage and claim this back from the third party. In this rare event (I use lots of bubble wrap!) I may need your help to fill out a third party claim form and retain or send me back the artwork and damaged packaging. This does not affect your claim to a refund and the costs of delivery back to me will be refunded to you with your full refund. Please contact me by e-mail prior to sending this so that I can give you my home address. My home address and telephone number will also be given out to those who wish to discuss any complaint(s).
My home address and telephone number is not included on the website to give me some privacy - there are some odd people on the internet! When I get an order I include a business card with my home address and telephone number so that customers can contact me directly which they often do for repeat orders. I work from home and use the PO Box to filter time wasters. Those who wish to have my home telephone number or address prior to placing an order or who want to chat about specific requirements should first contact me by letter or e-mail.
Due to periods of ill health I may not be able to complete orders within short time scales. I always give customers time scales of orders and keep them informed by
e-mail or telephone on how their order is progressing. Cheques are not cashed at my bank until pieces are complete and drying in my study. This is usually 2-3 days prior to
dispatch. For individual artwork such as web images, cartoons or pet portraits please contact me by e-mail or letter and give me as much notice as possible.
Delivery terms and conditions regarding payment arrangements can be read on each artwork page. I prefer payment by PayPal, cash or cheque. I will need a deposit, arranged on an individual basis, prior to starting any individualised work. Please be aware that at busy times of the year such as Christmas and Mother's Day I may need a full payment in advance to ensure that I timetable your artwork into my busy schedule.
I helped with the artwork for the cover of my husband's book which tells the story of The Grey Lady Ghost of the Cambridge Military Hospital which reveals her origins in the QAIMNS and where she meets a QA veteran of Afghanistan. She still walks her wards and tells her story by taking Scott Grey, a QARANC nurse, to the battlefields of World War One and beyond. This is the first in the series of Grey and Scarlet Novels by CG Buswell. Read the first chapter for free.
